Last summer I went on a trip to the country of Haiti.
This trip was really a life-changing event but maybe not in the ways that most people would think. Most of the time when someone goes on a mission trip with a church group they come back thriving and wanting to spread the love of Jesus to everyone. Well, that didn't happen for me. I came back scared and hurt. So many things happened on that trip that helped me know who I am today. I figured out who were my real friends and who weren't. I figured out people that didn't care about me or my feelings but just themselves. But I also found some great friendships. I found things that weren't right in those friendships and things that I could fix. I got close with a lot f the kids that went as well. I came back knowing that I was loved. Even if I thought different I always knew that there were people that would care about me and for me no matter what.
Haiti also showed me that no matter what it doesn't matter what people think of you or how you act. It just matters what you think and do. If you wanna go run in the run in the rain go run. If you want to go climb a mountain, go climb. If you want to go scream at the top of your lungs for no reason, go scream. Because you do you not anyone else you do you.
